Möbelix Code of Conduct

Our long-standing client, Möbelix, asked us to collaborate on their code of conduct. We happily agreed, as we had already had a lot of fun creating the code of ethics during a previous similar project.

How We Proceeded

Initial Exploration of the Topic

Together with the client, represented by Jakub Štěpán and his new colleague Monika Brožová, we organized several online and offline meetings where we discussed what the code should look like, what it should not be missing and what we could do without. Various meetings and workshops with Möbelix management and employees yielded a lot of materials that we could use as a basis.

Together we processed everything into thematic units. This created chapters, with each chapter containing several keywords or terms related to its topic. These later turned out to be #hashtags.

First Outputs

Once we had the chapters approved, including their exact titles, we started creating the texts. We created the first drafts of the chapter texts from the prepared keywords. We will admit without hesitation that we cooperated not only with each other, but also with artificial intelligence, which provided us with quite a few creative ideas.

Text Polishing

A few proofreading sessions followed, during which we agreed that we would try to incorporate more humorous innuendos into the texts, because humor is inherent to Möbelix. So we immersed ourselves in copywriting work again, again using not only our own but also AI.

Photography and Images

While writing the texts, we thought about how to bring the code to life. We brainstormed several ideas for images for each chapter. And because we preach authenticity in all our webinars, we took pictures of Möbelix employees right on set in pre-arranged poses. I think the photos turned out to be quite funny, and the employees enjoyed the photoshoot.

Visual Style of the Code of Conduct

The colors of Möbelix and the company’s visual style are clearly defined, so we stuck to the newly innovated graphic manual and supplemented it with photos of the virtual mascot, Miss Mia.

The last, but no less important, task was to choose ambiguous words for the pictures, as instructed. We put our heads together again and suggested several connections for each picture, from which Möbelix chose the most suitable one.

Conclusion

A code should express a set of values and behaviors that are typical for a given company. How each company interprets it depends on the company. Möbelix did not want the code to be just boring prohibitions, orders, or instructions. They wanted a code that would express their culture, such as workplace humor or the ubiquitous being on first name-terms. How do you think we did together?

The Code of Ethics serves as a mental guide and a good advisor, showing employees the right direction and helping them make the best decisions, strengthen relationships and contribute to a positive atmosphere in the company. It is a key tool for the company to remain stable, develop, be successful and all colleagues together with it.
