Kabi Fresh
Fresh Fresenius Kabi Company Magazine
We have become a publishing house. This piece is the second internal magazine that we have started writing together with the commissioning company. This time it was quite a chore. But it was worth it! The magazine is out and we have significantly expanded our knowledge of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry.

How it All Began
Fresenius Kabi Hořátev, a company that produces transfusion bags, accidentally found one of our magazines on the Internet. They liked it so much that they approached us to produce something similar for them. One meeting was enough and we were in cahoots on it. It is very easy to work with nice people.
The initial task was to agree on the format, number of pages and paper on which the magazine would be printed. In the end, we agreed on an unconventional size slightly exceeding the A4 format, 28 pages and printing on specific, recycled paper.
How we proceeded
We started by creating the layout. We designed the cover, the interview pages, and the feature pages. We also came up with the first blood cell, which later appeared on almost every page. Next, we finalized the magazine’s entire content. Since there were countless topics, we unfortunately had to cut back quite a bit. At least there will be plenty left for future issues.
It also took us some time to prepare appropriate questions for the employees. We don’t really come into contact with the healthcare environment very often. Which is probably a good thing—who would enjoy running around to see doctors? And here we were right in the production facility for blood bags.

Interviews and Photoshoot
The date for the interviews with employees and their photoshoot was inexorably approaching. The day before, we took a long trip to Poděbrady, where we had a hotel booked. Right on the premises, we played a few holes on the perfectly maintained golf course.
The next morning, our entire unit, consisting of two editors and one photographer, was already at the entrance to the company at 7:30. There, our contact person Terka picked us up and we worked out the last details. The interviews could begin. Rich refreshments were prepared for us and the employees throughout the entire time. Yummy!
I had a very good feeling about the whole day, all the employees were generally pleasant and sociable. We also had a lot of laughs while taking photos and performing various poses. Colleagues from Fresenius Kabi also took us through the culverts into the clean production area and for a while we almost felt like astronauts. Until we got used to it. Local employees must use these protective equipment at all times while working.

The second day was similar. The difference was that Tom took over the editor's role and the microphone. At the end, there was a meeting with the entire editorial board and a photo shoot. With our heads full to bursting with information and a lot of material to process, after two days we were able to return to our base and start creating the magazine itself.

And the Result? If the Client is Satisfied, We Are Satisfied Too.
We came across MenSeek while browsing another company magazine, where the editing appealed to us. Even though the location slightly discouraged us from contacting them (we are half a country apart), we decided to cooperate with them because we fully agreed on our views right from the first meeting. We liked the editing suggestions, their preparedness and pleasant openness. They respond well to our straightforwardness, quickly process the changes we submit and keep track of deadlines. Thanks to the support of the MenSeek implementation team, our Kabi Fresh is a pleasant read for colleagues.
